Part 1: Getting into the mood

I have to admit, it’s been very quiet here lately. There are many reasons for that, but we can sum them all up by saying: “And then life happened”.

Still, one reason stands out: After a very motivated start, sneaking into a variety of blog posts and docs, I started writing down my shopping list. Bying an SD card for each Pi was the easy part. But then … things got a bit complicated.

Which Pi version do I even have? Cables for display, power supply, and more vary from model to model. The pictures I found helped a bit, so I guessed they might be Zero models - but I wasn’t completely sure. So alongside the SD cards, I ordered some cables. And - surprise - none of them actually fit. YAY 😅

And yes, I know - you might be thinking: “Come on, just ask the person, who gave them to you in the first place”. But I was eager to figure it out myself. (I do know which command to use, but without a power supply, that command will just have to stay in my head forever)

At some point, I was honestly overwhelmed by all the conflicting information and tiny hardware details. It felt like the more I read, the less sure I became. Time was flying, and I just needed to get started. So I decided to do the only sensible thing (in my eyes): cheat 😇

I ordered a starter kit that includes everything needed for one Pi. To be precise, I got this one . Because if you’re going to cheat, you might as well do it properly - and get a Pi with Wi-Fi included 😇
